Deas's retained copy with emendations by him. General Deas reports on the Battle of Chickamauga to Colonel Wilson, assistant adjutant general of Thomas C. Hindman's Division. Written from Headquarters of Deas's Brigade near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Report includes the names of some participating generals, including Hindman, Anderson (possibly James Patton Anderson), and Arthur M. Manigault among others, cites the names of lieutenants, captains, and surgeons who served gallantly as members of Deas's staff, and lists items captured during battle, including ambulances and artillery. Docket includes Deas's estimate of Federal and Confederate participants; those figures have been struck. Writes "I cannot close this report without testifying my high appreciation of the courage and daring displayed by the officers and men of the brigade which I had the honor to command on this ever memorable field."
