Taken by Gutekunst. Accompanying panel of text reads: "Scenes from the Battlefield at Gettysburg, PA. Gateway of the Cemetery. Being our Centre, looking West, on the 2d and 3d of July, 1863." A wagon, perhaps an ambulance, stands just inside the cemetery gate. Note also the shattered window panes and dismantled fence. The Tyson brothers took a very similar view that August.
