Imprint on recto "Sherman's Battery, July 24th, after the return from Bull Run. Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1861, by D. Appleton & Co., in the Clerk's Office of the U.S. for the So. Dist. of N.Y." Photographers imprint on verso: "Cartes de Visite D. Appleton & Co. 443 & 445 B'way New York A A Turner Photographer."
