Printed by Wallcut. Stitched. Prints extracts from the speech of John Quincy Adams, delivered in House of Representatives on 14 and 15 April 1842 on the War with Great Britain and Mexico. Contains a reprint of a letter by Joshua Reed Giddings submitted to the New York Tribune arguing that fugitive slaves from Confederate owners should not be sent back as they would be lending help to their owners who are in rebellion against the government. Includes other editorials and essays on this topic.
Giddings was a United States Representative from Ohio 1837-1858.
