Certifies the sale of one quarter of a league of land "on the Trinity River near Cashatta Village" from Richardson to Edward Hall of Houston, Texas, for $1,000. The land had been granted to Richardson on 20 November 1835. Witnessed by George R. Robertson. An autograph and signed note by J.H. Griffin on the second page indicates that the sale was recorded in the Liberty County records on 2 May 1841.
Richardson was one of Stephen F. Austin's "Old 300" colonists. He joined the volunteer army under Francis W. Johnson in 1835 and participated in the Grass Fight and the siege of Bexar. He then served as secretary of the meeting held at Chocolate Bayou to elect delegates to the Convention of 1836.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
