Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

In compliance with Croft's request, encloses the "affidavits...as to value of lots proposed to be exchanged for the Collins farm" and a sworn statement on the prices he received for them when he sold them to Collins (none of the enclosed items included). Written by the president of the Anglo-Texan Land and Loan Co. on company stationary.
