Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Discusses possible career opportunities for the future and what a great experience the war and Europe has been. Jokes that he will be bringing home a dog for his mother. Written on American Red Cross letterhead.

Cadet Perry fought with the American Expeditionary Forces Air Service in the Signal Enlisted Reserve Corps.
