Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Written at 12 Midnight at home. Sylvia is glad to get his letter from St. Paul enroute to Camp. Enclosing pictures they took on his furlough including one in front of Radio City.

The Radio City Music Hall in New York City, N.Y. opened to the public on December 27, 1932. It showcased live entertainment featuring the Rockettes as well as motion pictures.
