Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Moe has heard that Sammy will be in competition with Dad as far as business is concerned. He says Sammy "cares more about furthering his own end than others." He tells Sylvia to wait to see Alvin until she has seen Moe first. He suggests they see a good Russian movie when he gets home.
