One letter from Malinda Bayler to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated January 6, 1944. Malinda was glad to hear from Leonard and asks him to write more to Susan his mother, as it lifts her spirits. She informs Leonard that Susan had two attacks of the grippe and the second case left her weak. Malinda spoke to Susan on the phone and Susan feels no improvement. Raymond is back to work, and sent a letter to Leonard. Susan asked Malinda to tell Leonard that his income tax forms arrived at the house and Raymond will look into it. Susan expects the doctor to visit the next day to refill her prescription. Malinda asks how Leonard is feeling. She also apologizes for writing such dull letters but she doesn't get out much. She advises Leonard to not worry too much about Susan. She appreciates Leonard's letters but thinks he should making writing his mother a priority.
