Addressed to "Dad." He mailed a Christmas present for Bee to his father's office so she wouldn't see it. He sent six colorful guest towels and a "lovely cover for her bed tray." As it's hard to find nice things, he's been buying gifts as he sees them.

The letter is not dated. "Letters in a Box" dates the letter as December 17, 1944.

Robert "Bob" Stone was a Bombardier in World War II and served in the Pacific Front. These letters, were compiled by Bob's wife, Sheila M. Stone, and Ali Adair into a book named Letters in a Box. This book details Bob's service to his country, and his life after the war. Bob's letters were donated to the collection by his wife, Sheila M. Stone, in 2017. It contains a variety of letters, postcards, patches, pins, photographs, and scrapbooks that relate to Bob's training and combat missions.

Dear Dad -
The only reason I'm sending this letter to your office is because I didn't want Bee to see this enclosure. I mailed a package to you today to 375 Park and it contains an Xmas present for Bee - six beautiful colorful guest towels and a lovely cover for her bed tray. It's so hard to find anything nice [inserted: so] that you have to buy things as you see them.
Just wanted you to know what was in the package so you could take care of it for me.
Love -
Bob
P.S Be sure to let me know as soon as the package arrives.
