Written for Henry Knox by Shaw, Knox's aide-de-camp. Indicates the distribution of forty pairs of shoes and stockings among ten officers, Knox included. Date of creation previously inferred (but erroneously recorded as 1873) and written in pencil near the top of the page.
Knox was appointed Major General after the 1781 Battle of Yorktown.
