Mr. Livingstone
I am very Sorrie That It falls out soe that you should be out of the way [now]. I have been at soe much paines to Come soe far: I Doe believe that you have been Informed of my Coming before now and that may Cause you to stay the longer. Thinking To weary me out: I will assure you that It will be your best way To come up with all posible speed & If you Doe Soe & Doe any Thing Like I shall bee your good friend; It is not knowne what I Come for as yett & my Designe Is To Remaine Soe untill I speake with you. Mr. Cooper hath advised me to stay till you Come up & has Intreated me that I would not Doe any Thing untill you Come whoe hath prevaild with me or Ells I had Attached what I could find believing that you Did keepe out of the way on purpose: If you Doe come up quickly I Doe assure you I will be freind you: but If other wise I shall Due what is to be Done heare & then goe Doune to Yorke: I Doe not know what farther to write at present but Doe blame my selfe That I have not write to you before.
