The examination of a pass on the banks of the Potomac River, just before the Georgetown Ferry pier. One is docked along the river bank with an artillery gun, limber and crew. Another barge slowly crosses the river in the distance. Inscription on verso: "Examining pass, Georgetown Ferry." Numeric Notation on verso: "161 (1038)." Image identical to .0392.
