Writes that a storm prevented him from going to West Point but he intends to visit there before returning to Philadelphia. Although Lincoln is uncertain whether he will be able to travel by water the following morning, he requests to see General Knox at 9 the next morning.
[stuck: July] [inserted: Jan.] 18 1783
The storm prevented my going to West Point to day I wish to go as soon as possible I mean not to return to Philadelphia until I have had the pleasure of seeing you at the Point - It is now impossible from the state of the ice to determine whether we can go by water or not in the morning - I wish to see you at 9 oclock tomorrow
Yours affectionately
B Lincoln
18 July 83
Hon Gen Knox.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
