Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Docket (which appears on a third page) indicates the deed was being sent to Mr. Thomas Flucker. Documents that a tract of land in Boston was purchased by Thomas Flucker from John Kneeland and his wife, Abigail. Signed by John and Abigail Kneeland as well as by John Wells and William Story, Justice of the Peace, as witnesses.
