The letter which your Excellency did me the honor to write to me on the 18th. ultimo was received on the 22.d following .
Sidi Amwrath has been received with the most flattering distinction; his prudent deportment has ensured him the friendship and esteem of his uncle, and his visit cannot fail to strengthen the ties of confidence which I trust will ever subsist between Your Excellency and His Highness the Bashaw.
In consequence of Rair Mahomet Courien being furnished with a safe conduct from Sir A. I. Ball, the same vessel has been appointed to take him to Malta. And which has been prevented from failing by a continuance of bad weather-He carries with him the united best wishes of your brother's family and people.
It only remains for one to urge Your Excellency's departure for Dirne with all possible dispatch, and to renew my sincere wishes for your Excellency's future happiness.
