One letter from Leonard Eugene Graeff to Susan Prowell Graeff and Raymond James Graeff dated April 6, 1945. He attended a showing of "National Velvet" featuring Mickey Rooney and greatly recommends it. He apologizes for being so anxious about the photos he had sent to them. He wanted to make sure that they hadn’t forgotten he wanted them back. He also commented on his future. In the past you could expect to be on his base for 28 to 30 months before a leave and rotation to another base. The officers have been working on a plan to shorten this time and rotate to more bases. He lists the new bases on the rotation and explains that a service man would get 30 days leave then go to the new base. He is now hopeful that even if the war doesn’t end in the next 18 months he will still be able to get home for the thirty days. He mentions that Stanley is already discharged and while Leonard envies him he knows it’s because of where Stanley was stationed. He mentions Mabel and asks how she is after her brother's death. He also mentions Melinda Graeff, Lulu Graeff, Dick Arnold, Russell Brady, Dottie Erickson, Ed Zell, Jo Gassert, June Walter, Wayne Stouffer and Kennith Moyer.
