These free sessions explore the sacrifices, strengths, and legacies of American Veterans and Service Members across six major conflicts in United States history. Register for an upcoming session or earn PD credit by enrolling in VLP On Demand modules.

Each workshop includes:

  • A lecture by an eminent historian in the field
  • A pedagogical session led by a Gilder Lehrman Master Teacher
  • A tour of a historic National Cemetery (virtual or in-person)
  • Free classroom materials, including a special lesson plan made for this series
  • A Certificate of Attendance and (when applicable) CTLE Letter
  • Access to a free professional development video module on The Soldier’s Experience

Their Full Measure: American Service in World War II

This workshop features a lecture and Q&A with Professor Luis Alvarez (UC San Diego), a pedagogy session, and a 90-minute visit to Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. Coffee and lunch will be provided.
