Duane, James (fl. 1763-1785)
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Robert Livingston, Jr. re: Robert, Jr.'s uneasiness
James Duane writes that he and his family are in good health and spirits, and thus asks Robert, Jr.: "But what my dear Sir shall I say on the tender subject of your present uneasiness! . . . Your own Piety and Fortitude can alone teach you Patience Resignation and Forgiveness." He also notes that his sister-in-law "Kitty" [Catharine] is in great distress due to her father's displeasure with her.
